Dashain Mela 2023 – A Celebration to Remember
The much-anticipated Dashain Mela unfolded on the 12th of October, and it was a day filled with vibrant festivities, organized by the students of our college, Malpi International College.
Stall Preparations:
In the days leading up to the event, students worked tirelessly to create an array of stalls. These stalls were adorned with traditional Dashain decorations and showcased an enticing display of cultural items. Students planned to offer an assortment of delectable Dashain food, providing attendees with an authentic taste of this Nepalese festival.
Cultural Performances:
The event featured captivating performances by our talented students. Dance routines filled with energy and musical performances that resonated with the essence of Dashain brought the cultural spirit to life. The dedication and enthusiasm of the performers were truly remarkable.
College Decoration:
Our college was transformed into a festive wonderland with intricate decorations. Traditional Dashain symbols, vibrant artwork, and marigold flowers adorned every corner, immersing everyone in the celebratory atmosphere.
Games and Entertainment:
Attendees were thoroughly entertained with a variety of exciting games, including dart games, fishing games, and ring toss. Laughter and cheer filled the air as students, teachers, and visitors participated in these engaging activities. The organizers and participants alike embraced the joy of the occasion.
Food and Menu:
One of the highlights of the event was the diverse menu featuring traditional Dashain dishes. The culinary delights, including momo, Newari sish, cold coffee, Oreo shake, kathi roll, sausages, chatpate, and many traditional jewelry and clothing items, offered a rich tapestry of flavors and culture. Students and guests savored the culinary delights and celebrated the diversity of Dashain.
Tika Ceremony:
At the entrance of the college, a traditional tika ceremony welcomed guests. This symbol of Dashain’s cultural significance was a heartfelt gesture, with attendees receiving tika blessings as they entered the event.
Bingo Extravaganza:
As the day reached its zenith, the atmosphere buzzed with excitement as everyone gathered for the grand finale – a lively game of Bingo. Laughter and cheers echoed through the college as students, teachers, and attendees eagerly marked their cards, hoping to strike that winning combination. The Bingo game added an extra layer of fun and camaraderie, bringing the Dashain Mela to a joyous close.
The resounding success of the Dashain Mela was not only evident in the vibrant activities, delicious food, and cultural performances but also in the shared laughter and connections forged throughout the day. It was a celebration of tradition, creativity, and community spirit, leaving everyone with cherished memories of a Dashain Mela to remember.
