Malpi International College Presents:
Mobile Photography Competition to all +2 and Equivalent students (A-Levels, CBSE, IB ETC)

In Collaboration with XYZ COMPANY

Submission dates for the Photograph Contest is till 8th October 2022

Our intent of the competition is to:

  • Spread awareness of paradigm shift in photography culture and to help students’ adapt through it rightly and cautiously,
  • Promote the benefits of mobile photography in today’s generation,
  • Aware students about new careers in Photography, Content Creation, Social Media Influencer, etc.
  • Inculcate critical concepts like independent thought, depth of knowledge, and to also enhance their creative and artistic quotients,
  • Create a platform for students to express their talent and let the whole world discover their most beautiful images,
  • Provide an opportunity for students to get good scholarships in top colleges in Nepal and Abroad, 
  • Inspire students to view the world with colorful thoughts and take the untaken path in their careers.

The Format of the Competition will be as follows:

  1. All the students interested to participate in the Mobile Photography Competition shall submit a google form where they need to fill in their personal information to register for the competition,
  2. All the participants should submit their Photographs as mentioned in the google form through email or to the Facebook Page of Malpi International College before the deadline,
  3. The competition will happen at the same time all over Nepal with the same deadline given to all,
  4. Students can participate in the competition via their schools or through our Facebook Page,
  5. Students can independently pick and choose on what genre, style, or expressions of photographs they want to click,
  6. Students can submit up to Five Images/ photographs and submitting more than five images will automatically disqualify their entry for the competition,
  7. The online submission automatically limits the submission of entry per participant to FIVE. Therefore, participants must make sure that they will only submit their final entry when registering and submitting. Moreover, a participant is not allowed to use multiple email addresses in sending their entries. Violators will be disqualified from the competition.
  8. MIC takes no responsibility for any transmission delay or internet connection problem during the submission of entries.
  9. The entry to be submitted should be an image/photo with a corresponding “photo title” and “photo caption”. The caption must indicate the place where the image was taken and must have an accurate description of what the photo is about.
  10. Students must submit their photographs before the deadline to be eligible to enter,
  11. All the responses received after the deadline shall be counted as invalid,
  12. Winners will be selected by a panelist of judges after two weeks of the competition,
  13. Winners will be announced through SMS, Email, and on our Facebook Page.
  14. Proof of enrolment – school ID and enrolment forms – may be required from participants whose entries made it to the shortlist.

Winners shall get:

  • 1st Prize: 75% scholarship on Tuitions Fees at Malpi International College in any of their programs or 100% Free Processing for Abroad Studies for 1 student as per their choice and gift voucher worth Rs 10,000/- 
  • 2nd Prize: 50% scholarship on Tuitions Fees at Malpi International College in any of their programs or 70% Free Processing for Abroad Studies for 2 students as per their choice and gift voucher worth Rs 8,000/- 
  • 3rd Prize: 40% scholarship on Tuitions Fees at Malpi International College in any of their programs or 50% Free Processing for Abroad Studies for 3 students as per their choice and gift voucher worth Rs 5,000/- 
  • Consolation Prize: 25% scholarship on Tuitions Fees Malpi International College in any of their programs or 25% Free Processing for Abroad Studies for 10 students as per their choice.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

Photographs should be:
  • Created and taken by the contest participant.
  • Created and taken using mobile devices like smartphones and tablets.
  • In full color.
  • In LANDSCAPE orientation.
  • In mobile digital format.
  • Taken using the best settings of the mobile device.
  • Taken during the competition period.
Photographs should NOT:
  • Contain watermarks or any identifying mark.
  • Violate person’s rights, including, but not limited to copyrights and privacy.
  • Previously submitted or won in any photography contest.
  • Contain images of elected government officials.
  • Edited or enhanced.
  • Photographs should be submitted in the raw image format of the mobile device used and should reflect the file metadata or properties. MIC reserves the right to reject entries taken using non-mobile devices.

JUDGEMENT CRITERIA:

Criteria for Judging are as follows:
  • Story Behind the picture 25%
  • Composition 25%
  • Photographic Quality 25%  
  • Visual Impact 25%
All entries will be checked for compliance to contest mechanics. Judges have the right to verify the validity and originality of any submitted entry and/or details about the contest participant. Judges have the right to disqualify any contest participant who submits an entry that is not in accordance with the contest rules. Photographs should not violate a person’s rights, including, but not limited to copyrights and privacy.

What devices are eligible for entry?

Images shot and edited on any mobile phone or tablet including iPhones, iPads, Android phones and tablets, Windows Phones, and the iPod touch are eligible for entry.

Can I use apps on my phone or tablet to process or edit my photos?

Yes! Absolutely. You may use any app or any combination of apps. If it’s on your phone or tablet you can use it.

Can I use my desktop or laptop to process or edit photos?

No! From a desktop computer, you may compress file size, change file titles, and upload to our site. There should be no image alteration, crops, adjustments, or manipulations from a desktop or laptop. We will disqualify images created with apps that access desktop software using the mobile as a remote i.e. apps such as AstroPad.

Is there a photographic style or genre that you are looking for?

We want to showcase great images. We hope and expect to see all genres and styles submitted. All styles welcome!

IMPORTANT RULES
  • Photographers of all ages and districts of residence are welcome to submit images as long as they are NEB/+2 or Equivalent Students who have just given their 12th Exams in 2079 BS. There are no restrictions on submission eligibility with regard to age or residence unless besides that.
  • Entrant asserts that all submitted images have been shot and/or edited (processed with apps) or otherwise created with any and all known mobile phone and tablet devices. No desktop software is permitted. Entries that do not conform to these rules will be disqualified.
  • Copied Photographs will not be accepted for the contest and will be disqualified immediately. This is to encourage participants to click their own photographs and cultivate their creative skills. We highly discourage copying.
  • Entrants grant the Mobile Photography Awards the right to use submitted images on the Mobile Photography Awards website and for promotion
  • Entrant agrees to be bound by all terms and conditions as established herein.
  • The entry to be submitted should be an image/photo with a corresponding “photo title” and “photo caption”. The caption must indicate the place where the image was taken and must have an accurate description of what the photo is about.
  • The decision of the Jury member is FINAL and no queries related to the result will be entertained.
  • The deadline for submission is 8TH October 2022.
  • Selected photographs will be published on the website with the name, photo, and bio of the participants without the need for prior permission. Participating in the photography competition itself is equivalent to giving us permission to publish your photographs from our side anywhere, online or in digital magazines. However, participants can choose to inform us in the very beginning that they are not interested in publishing the article anywhere.

DECLARATION OF RESULT
The result will be declared through Facebook, other Social Media, and Websites (MIC Facebook Page) on 22nd October 2021 and the e-certificate of participation shall be sent in the emails provided.
